A bag of evidence has been retrieved by police during their search for missing Victorian campers Russell Hill and Carol Clay.
On Wednesday, scoured an area surrounding the Great Alpine Road in Mount Hotham, 100km from the Wonnangatta Valley, where the campers were last seen.
Russell and Carol went missing in March 2020, after they went camping together.
It’s unclear what the bag of evidence contains.
During their search on Wednesday, police also uncovered two shovels in deep terrain.
“At this stage I’m aware of the discovery, but as to the relevance, that’s still being assessed,” Missing Persons Squad Detective Acting Inspector Tony Combridge said.
